Sorry there has been no news recently, we've been very busy completing this project. A lot has happened in the past 2 weeks! We have fitted and tested the roof rack to our T5 and can report we are very happy with the finished outcome. The retro rack looks terrific on our T5! We ran the van up to 80mph and the was no whistling, vibrating or drumming noises so we are pretty happy with that.

We have a complete price list now for both, our Aluminium lath version and our 'Woody' Oak lath version. We have also added new photos to our portfolio page.

Just a quick update, we have decided we are going to build another rack before we work out how much the rack will cost. Our main aim is to get the labour costs down by manufacturing the next rack quicker and more efficiently. The Managing Director is back off holiday now but we're still waiting for an appropriate time to fit the rack to his works van.

We are pleased to announce we have completed the roof rack! Price still need to be finalized, the Managing Director is currently on holiday for the next couple of weeks so won't be able to sort the costings out until he arrives back. Once he is back we will add some more images with the rack fitted to his Transporter.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. We have received the roof bars back from plating and power coating but have since decided to replace the varnished wooden slats with aluminium slats, powercoated white to give a better look to the vehicle we are putting it on - http://www.vwt4forum.co.uk/showthread

Using aluminium rather than wood will also cut the costing in half which is an extra bonus!

All the parts have been made! We completely assembled the whole rack before de-assembling and sending the roof bars and upstands off for zinc plating and powder coating. Hoping to receive the parts back by the next week. The oak slats have now been planed, sanded and had 4 coats of varnish, ready from the re-assembly!
